The former Sapphire crystal was also a trapiche Sapphire, therefore the trapiche pattern remained even after the replacement. You can hardly find nice trapiche sapphire cabochons, but this one still discloses in transmitted light a good trapiche pattern and the crystal is fully covered with small spinel and some graphite lamella.
