One side shows a small fracture plane but all other faces are terminated. The crystal seems to have an hexagonal habit, but a closer look at the angles tell you different, so it is unclear why the spinel finally crystallized in this shape. Under the Chelsea-Filter the crystal is slightly red, so it may contain some cobalt. Very unusual spinel found many years ago in Sri Lanka.
