スピネル (Spinel, Namya)

This is an almost 4 carat sized spinel from Namya with a great pinkish red slightly purplish color. The stone is hosting the typical inclusions for this locality. Those inclusions are irregular shaped crystal inclusions with rounded edges or negative- crystals. Some of these are hollows under enormous pressure so if the cutter polished into those areas the gas originally captured during the epitaxy, is finally released along with a impressive bang. This happened to this stone as well you can see the small round hollow are located at the girdle and another one close to the table. Nevertheless you get the stone with good brilliancy, polish and attractive color which is 100% percent natural from very remote area far in the north of the Kachin state.
