Mineral: | Amphibole: 45 % Pargasite / 35% Edenite / 20% Richterite | Chemical Formula: | NaCa2(Mg4Al)Si6Al2O22(OH)2 / NaCa2Mg5Si7AlO22(OH) / Na(CaNa)Mg5Si8O22(OH)2 | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | | Quantity: | | Origin: | Pyan Gyi mine (West of Pyan Pyit), northeast of Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) | Here you get a mixed amphibole crystal, those are still sold as pargasite but those crystals or cut stones are a mix between three different amphiboles. Analysis’s have shown that those are a combination of (Fluor-) edenite, pargasite and richterite. Here you get a rarely occurring crystal with termination, only one prism side and the base show crystalline fracture faces. Very interesting amphibole!
