Mineral: | Tourmaline, Variety: Schorl | Chemical Formula: | NaFe3+2Al6(BO3)3[Si6O18](OH)3(OH) | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | | Quantity: | | Origin: | Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan | Here you get a bent schorl crystal grown on another schorl. The main crystal shows partly normal termination and partly healed crystalline fracture faces. The crystal seems to be tectonically deformed showing only a few very small hair cracks. The surface seems to be partly covered by very thin needle like crystals. Interesting specimen from Shigar valley.
