Mineral: | Johachidolite / Scapolite (Marialite-Meionite Series) / Sodalite var. Hackmanite / Phlogopite / Fluorapatite | Chemical Formula: | CaAlB3O7 / 3NaAlSi3O8·NaCl - 3CaAl2Si2O8·CaCO3 / Na8Al6Si6O24(Cl2,S) / KMg3(Si3Al)O10(F,OH)2 / Ca5(PO4)3F | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | | Quantity: | | Origin: | Pyan Gyi mine (West of Pyan Pyit), northeast of Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) | All Johachidolite crystals in this matrix disclosing predominantly crystal faces. Some small or tiny parts disclosing crystalline fracture faces, but most of them show striation and even lustrous surface.
While the grey parts are orthoclase the other main mineral is Hackmanite, easily seen on the strong intense color, which is changing under UV, the other colorless to white mineral is scapolite. The minor part in the composition is the phlogopite crystal and two small apatite crystals. Here you get the whole pegmatite suite, where this mineral is typically found in.
Part of the Johachidolite is bicolor and with gemmy transparency! A great collectors item from the Pyan Gyi mine.
