Mineral: | Quartz | Chemical Formula: | SiO2 | Size: | | Weight: | | Transparence: | | Quantity: | | Origin: | Mogok Stone Tract, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar) | A rarely found Trapiche Quartz Cabochon even big sized. Unlike the corundum and beryl varieties, where the 6-ray pattern is caused by incompatible material which is secluded during the growth, the quartz Trapiche pattern is simply caused by intensified coloration along the hexagonal (trigonal) structure. In the middle you can see a triangle from where the 6 rays starts to spread. The whole cab is interspersed with rutile needles. A rare collectors item.
